Herbert C. Lee Jr.
Born July 1, 1954 in Sontag, MS. Passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Presence St. Joseph Hospital. Retired from Stateville Correctional Center after 30 years of service.
Preceded in death by his father, Herbert Charles Lee Sr., and stepfather, Abraham B. Taplet.

Survived by his companion, Mary Burd, mother, Mary L. Taplet of Chicago, IL, siblings, Charlesetta Lee-Blanchard of Jackson, MS, Sharon Lee of Sontag, MS, George Lee of St. Paul, MN, Darlene Taplet-Southward of Garden City, KS, Michael Taplet of Chicago, IL, Maurice Taplet or Riverdale, IL and Tonya Taplet-Smith of Chicago, IL.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2013 from 2:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home and on Saturday, June 29, 2013 9-10 am at Friendship Baptist Church, 201 Sherman St., Joliet, IL. Service at 10 am, Pastor Gary R. Williams, officiating. Interment following at Elmhurst Cemetery.
