Former Mooresville High Teacher Killed In I-85 Wreck

Jonathan Thomas Bost, 45, previously taught chemistry in Mooresville. He was killed Saturday when his vehicle collided with a truck.

MOORESVILLE, NC β€” Jonathan Thomas Bost, a former honors chemistry teacher at Mooresville High School, was killed in a car accident on Interstate 85 over the weekend, according to local reports.

Bost, 45, was killed when the sports-utility vehicle he was driving collided with the rear end of a tractor trailer slowing for a work zone along the interstate as he was enroute to his home in China Grove, North Carolina following a baseball game, the Salisbury Post reported. The accident occurred around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, April 21 near Archdale, North Carolina in Guilford County.

In addition to teaching in Mooresville, Bost had previously taught at Salisbury High School, and umpired for high school and college baseball teams throughout the region.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 28 in China Grove at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, with a ceremony and burial scheduled for 1 p.m. according to the Mooresville Tribune
