DETROIT – A Michigan State Police trooper was responding to a highway crash when his patrol car was sideswiped by a passing semi-truck.
The incident occurred on I-96 in Detroit on Monday afternoon, Dec. 9, ClickOnDetroit reports. The trooper was responding to a crash near Michigan Avenue when the semi-truck swiped the front passenger side of the patrol vehicle. The impact broke the axle and ripped the front passenger-side tire off.
No one was injured in the incident. The semi-truck driver was issued a ticket for failing to yield for a stationary emergency vehicle, the report said.
