Miranda Kerr has style. She’s modeled for some of the biggest brands, launched a line of skincare products, and dabbled in a bit of interior design by creating a line of chinaware for Royal Albert. So, when she loves something, people take notice. And her most recent obsession is floral arrangements by Liesl Gaffney-Dawson.

In one day, the former Victoria’s Secret model shared three different bouquets scattered throughout her home. “Can’t seem to get enough of your exquisite arrangements today @lieslflora,” she captioned a picture of an arrangement set up outside. “The most beautiful flowers,” she wrote on another snap.

So, what makes these arrangements unique? Well, Gaffney-Dawson says she mixes the fundamentals and traditions of floral design with the Renaissance aesthetic that is currently trending in the floral industry.

“My arrangements have an individuality which is both wild and simple, and sometimes I also love to embrace rich colors,” she tells Architectural Digest. “I try to balance them, so they feel like something you’ve found in nature but that’s a bit unexpected, ethereal, or exciting. Most importantly, though, I hope people feel joyful and peaceful when they look at them.”

Gaffney-Dawson’s diverse background provides much of the inspiration for her work. She grew up with a very creative family near a tiny, alternative town in the lush bushland of Australia (Kerr is also from Down Under). At 20 years old, Gaffney-Dawson moved to Paris, where she worked as a model for three years. She now lives in California, where she says the climate supports a great wealth of flowers.

“These three places have really shaped me and my artistic vision,” she says. “I’ve done many creative things, but when I started experimenting with flowers, it really made sense to be able to create while feeling so close to nature.”

When she began her new venture, Gaffney-Dawson trusted Kerr—whom she’s known for nearly 20 years both personally and professionally—for feedback on her floral arrangements. “When she found out I was starting my floral business, she was very supportive,” she says. “After seeing the different floral designs I was making, she loved them and became one of my early clients.”

Now, Gaffney-Dawson serves the Los Angeles area doing deliveries, weekly floral arrangements for homes, businesses, and hotels, along with flower styling and events.
