SPOILER ALERT – Kat Slater comes back from the dead in EastEnders!

It would be bad news for both the Slater family and EastEnders fans if Kat really was dead, so it’s no surprise that Stacey wants answers from Big Mo as to what happened to the queen of leopard print.
Jessie Wallace says...
"Kat arrives in a cab and then sees a leaflet on the floor saying: ‘Kat Slater’ – she turns up at her own wake! I was worried when I found out there wasn’t going to be a second series of [Kat and Alfie spin-off series] Redwater because I thought: ‘Where does Kat go from here?’ But [producer] John Yorke, who first introduced the Slaters 18 years ago, luckily decided to bring me back.
I asked him: ‘Please let her be full-whack Kat’, and she is. I’ve got the cleavage out, the red
lips, the red nail varnish and the leopard print. It’s like bringing the Slaters back. And, of course, we’ve got a new one – cousin Hayley, played by Katie Jarvis, who is fantastic. She’s got that rawness about her. She’s a perfect Slater."
Having claimed that Kat is dead, Mo continues the lie, telling Stacey that her cousin’s body is being brought back from Ireland. Later, Mo and Stacey go to see Jay to discuss funeral plans.
Naturally, this isn’t going to be cheap, but when they ask Ian for financial help, the only thing the old skinflint offers is to help with the catering.
Instead, it’s the Carters who come to the rescue, agreeing to hold the wake for free in The Vic.
Martin arranges a brainstorming session to decide the best fundraiser, and Jay offers a free coffin – but Big Mo’s reaction surprises everyone...
The pressure mounts on Stacey, and in walks Jean after a three-year absence with a bombshell of her own...
As events take yet another turn, what better time for the cause of the kerfuffle to show up in Albert Squart, proving that there’s plenty of life in the old Kat yet.

Mariam was dreadfully upset when she and Arshad had to wave goodbye to Daisy – their last foster-child – and the doting foster-mum wasn’t sure whether she could ever face the prospect of going through the process again.
While Arshad desperately tries to remember his wife’s favourite place to visit as he plans to treat her to a few days away, Mariam interrupts him by showing up with the social worker.
They have a new baby, Harley, to foster.
But what can they do to help their new arrival settle? Surprisingly, it’s the Taylors who come up with the answer…
