Based on initial estimates, the new “Star Wars” movie is expected to bring in about $200 million at the box office on its opening weekend, Variety reports.
Tracking services released their initial estimates today for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” which opens in North America on the weekend of Dec. 15-17.
“Directed by Rian Johnson, the movie picks up where 2015’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ left off,” Variety notes. “It stars returning cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Andy Serkis.”
Also on board for this installment will be Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio del Toro. It will be the final movie for Fisher, who died last December.
