Tri-County defeats Martinsville, wins 20th
MARTINSVILLE — Tri-County defeated Martinsville volleyball 25-13, 25-13 improving to 20-4 overall. The Lady Titans have won 12 straight.
Grace Burnside led in kills and aces with 9 and 6. Morgan Houia had 17 assists. Maiya Eskew, Julia Robertson, Grace Burnside. Madison Shirley all scooped up 5 digs.
Tri-County will be hosting Heritage at Hume Tuesday in another LOVC SE Division game.
Cumberland defeats Villa Grove
TOLEDO — Cumberland defeated Villa Grove’s volleyball team in two sets 25-20 and 25-16. This win puts Cumberland’s record to 15-12. It was a Little Okaw Valley Conference Southeast Division game.

Katelyn Yaw led Cumberland in kills with 8. Tayler McMechan had 13 assists. Maddie Hendrix had 5 blocks. Danae Sowers scooped up 11 digs.
Cumberland’s next match is to be at Teutopolis on Monday.
Neoga sweeps South Central
EFFINGHAM — Neoga won its first match at the National Trail Conference tournament with a 25-23, 25-21 sweep.
Mary Hill led Neoga with 10 kills, Zoe Meadows had 13 digs and Jaclyn Atwell had three aces. Olivia Tits added nine digs and Aly Easton had seven assists.
WSS defeats South Central
EFFINGHAM — WSS defeated South Central 25-4 and 25-11 in two sets in the Nation Trail Conference Tournament.
Megan Schlechte led WSS in kills with 14.
WSS will be playing on Saturday in the continuation of the NTC Tournament.
WSS defeats Neoga
EFFINGHAM — WSS defeated Neoga 25-16 and 25-10 in two sets in the National Trail Conference Tournament.
Megan Schlechte led WSS in kills with 15. Mary Hill led Neoga in kills with 6.
WSS and Neoga will be playing against St. Anthony on Saturday in the NTC Tournament.
Marshall defeats Casey-Westfield
MARSHALL — Marshall swept Casey-Westfield 25-22, 25-15 on Thursday. Casey-Westfield falls to 4-19 overall and 1-6 in the Little Illini Conference. Casey-Westfield plays at the Edwards County tournament on Saturday.
Jae Lynn Riggleman had six kills and Harley Mason had eight digs.
CROSS COUNTRY
Mitchell is runner-up in CIC meet
CLINTON -- Shelbyville's Ailey Mitchell finished second out of 42 runners in the Central Illinois Conference meet Thursday at Weldon Springs State Park with a time of 18:29.58. She helped the Lady Rams place second out of five teams with 59 points in the meet won by Decatur St. Teresa with 37 points.
Mitchell earned all-conference honors as did third place Gabrielle Spain of Shelbyville who finished with a time of 18:36.65.
Sullivan didn't have enough runners to compete on the girls' side, but Katherine Kite earned all-CIC honors with a time of 20:53.31, good for seventh place.
On the boys' side Shelbyville placed third out of six teams with 72 poiints in the meet won by Clinton with 31 points. Sullivan was sixth with 137 points.
Earning all-CIC honors was Shelbyville's Cody Rohdemann who was ninth with a time of 17:16.46.
The top finisher for Sullivan was Chase McClure who was 13th with a time of 17:49.67.
Shelbyville is to travel to Peoria for the Patriot Invitational Saturday at 1 p.m.
BASEBALL
Gruel, Moore honorable mention all-NTC
COWDEN -- Although no WSS or Neoga baseball player earned first team all-National Trail Conference honors two were among the three to receive honorable mention. They were Logan Gruel of WSS and Trenton Moore of Neoga.
The MVP of the Conference was Tyson Jones.
