Twenty-eight of New Mexico high schools are ranked among the best nationwide, according to a 2018 U.S. News & World Report ranking. The highest-rated school in New Mexico was the Albuquerque Insitute of Math and Science.
The 2018 best high school rankings were released on Wednesday and evaluated over 20,500 public high schools.
U.S. News identified schools that help best serve students and assess how prepared they are for college-level work. Schools were also recognized with gold, silver and bronze medals. Two schools in New Mexico received a gold star recognition, seven received a silver star and 19 received a bronze star.
