Principal Secretary (Agriculture) C. Parthasarathi would visit Rome and Zurich from November 21 to 27 to attend the innovation symposium being organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and a planning meeting on the 32nd ISTA Congress to be held here in June-July next year.
According to Agriculture Department officials, Mr. Parthasarathi would make a presentation on Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima being implemented by the Telangana government at the innovation fair to be held at FAO headquarters in Rome from November 21 to 23. He would also participate in a panel discussion on agriculture innovation systems.
Along with Director of Telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Authority (TSSOCA) K. Keshavulu, who is also the Managing Director of Telangana State Seed Development Corporation, Mr. Parthasarathi would also make a presentation on development of Telangana as a global seed hub at a meeting with Seeds Division of FAO on November 21. The two would participate in a discussion on Telangana as seed bowl and on seed park. The two would also participate in another meeting at FAO office on November 24.
On November 26 and 27, Mr. Parthasarathi and Mr. Keshavulu would visit International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) Secretariat at Zurich in Switzerland for planning meeting of 32nd ISTA Congress. They would make a presentation on the arrangements and exhibition to be organised as part of the event here.
