A Penn Yan student is facing charges for making a threat after police say he posted a photo online that referenced one of the Columbine shooters.

In the Snapchat post, officers say the 17-year-old student was dressed in all black with what appeared to be a gun and a caption that read: “Eric Harris V2.”

Officers investigated and found the gun in the social media post was an airsoft gun. However, they did find a shotgun in the home.

The student has been banned from school and was charged with making a terroristic threat. He is being held by police until arraignment.

Friday marks 19 years since the deadly school shooting in Colorado.
