-- From the fire and face-paint of Kiss to grungy wail of Pearl Jam, five classic rock tribute bands will try to revive the glory and spectacle of rock and roll at the Amphitheater at The Wharf in Orange Beach on Saturday, Aug. 3.

Participating bands include Rock and Roll Over (Kiss), Back in Black (AC/DC), Hysteria (Def Leppard), Pearl Gem (Pearl Jam), and Blaze of Glory (Bon Jovi). Event producer John Ruffino of Red Mountain Entertainment said the experience will be about more than just the music.

"We're adding production with video and sets to make it feel like you're going back into a 1980s rock arena," Ruffino said. "If you close your eyes it might feel just like one of the original shows."

While there will be plenty of "Rock and Roll All Night," and a touch of "Pour Some Sugar On Me," Ruffino said that unlike many rock concerts, Rewind Fest will be a family-friendly event.

"We wanted to create an atmosphere where a parent can take his kids to their first rock and roll show," Ruffino said. "They won't have to worry about the band is going to say or do on stage, so it can be a wholesome family event."

Gates open at 5 p.m., with Hysteria kicking off on the main stage at 6 p.m. There will be a second, unplugged stage within the venue where bands will play shorter, 20-minute sets in between the main stage acts.

Red Mountain Entertainment produced a similar festival in Birmingham on June 8, although with mostly different acts. That festival also featured Back in Black, along with Led Zepplica (Led Zeppelin), Motley Inc. (Motley Crue), Green Today (Green Day), Guns 4 Roses (Guns N Roses), Atomic Punks (Van Halen), and Rumours (Fleetwood Mac).
