Hamilton Tiger-Cats linebacker Simoni Lawrence apologized on social media Monday for his post-game comments about his hit on Ottawa Redblacks quarterback Henry Burris.

Burris took issue with a late hit by Lawrence in the first quarter of Ottawa's 12-6 win over the Ticats, made the knee that Burris hurt the week before against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. No penalty was called on the hit and Burris called for Lawrence to be suspended.

"Simoni and I have always been good," Burris explained to reporters. "But he crossed the line.

"That's like one of us going after him and trying to chop block him. You don't see us doing that stuff. We have integrity and we play within the rules."

Lawrence shot back at Burris, saying he was "acting like a girl" and "he's 40 years old, acting like a ho."
