TONIGHT: Few Passing Clouds, Breezy, Mild. Lo 51F.

MONDAY: Clear & Drier, Mild. High 68F.

MONDAY NIGHT: Clouds Thickening Late, Still Mild. Lo 50F.

The rainy start to the day brought over 1.0” of rainfall across the Mid-State ahead of a warm front. In the front’s wake, much drier air built in, clearing out the skies (at least temporarily) and driving temperatures into the low 70s for the afternoon. This was a complete 180 from the morning. As cooler air attempts to push into central PA tonight, few clouds will re-develop, though it will remain mild with lows area-wide near 50.

Monday is looking quiet with lots of sunshine and a gentle east-northeast breeze. Highs will remain a good 5 to 8 degrees above seasonal averages in the upper 60s.

Clouds increase Tuesday and Wednesday as a southeast flow develops and locks in some low level moisture.

The forecast becomes more complicated around Halloween. A powerful system is forecast to develop across the middle of the country and eventually sweep through the Commonwealth. Exact timing is a bit tricky, but it appears showers are likely for trick-or-treaters ahead of a warm front. However, models continue to trend toward a more widespread rain event late Thursday night into early Friday, which means Halloween itself may not be a complete wash! Behind Friday’s front, it turns cooler and windy Friday night. This push of cold air will mean business. By next Saturday, some may struggle to get back to 50 degrees!
