Red Sox Division Banner Found On Side Of Somerville Highway

And the guys who found it are putting the screws to the team to negotiate for its return.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A banner marking the Boston Red Sox clinching the 2018 American League East title made a pit stop on its way to Fenway Park. Three friends from Malden found the banner in a box on the side of McGrath Highway in Somerville after it apparently had fallen off the vendor's delivery truck. They want to give it back – but they want something in return.

"Financial [compensation], maybe some tickets, we want something. We don’t know what we want. We want to return it, 100 percent, but we would like to get something," 44-year-old Louie Iacuzzi told the Boston Globe. For their part, the Red Sox say they are communicating with the men and have offered a "variety of ways" for them to return the banner, according to WHDH.

And the Sox need the banner back soon – they could very well clinch the AL East Wednesday night against the Yankees after falling 3-2 in their opener in the Bronx.
