Sumter Co. councilman, father arrested following domestic violence incident

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A Sumter County councilman and his father were arrested on Thursday.
Deputies say 26-year-old Christopher Sumpter, Jr., is charged with 2nd-degree domestic violence.
On Aug. 25, they say he threatened to kill a person on Spencer Road. All of this reportedly happened in front of a child he shares with the victim.
Christopher Sumpter, 50, damaged the victim’s vehicle at the same location, causing nearly $600 in damages.
