Despite the high chance of rain this weekend, there are plenty of events for people of all ages to get involved in.

This weekend will see the Lake District Folk Festival take over Staveley village, with dozens of performances in pubs and cafes, as well as dancing, ceilidh bands and workshops.

There is plenty of choice in Barrow tomorrow (Friday 3), including a scooter rally.

The rally will start at 6pm and continue into Saturday, with Barrow's Ready Steady Go Scooter Club hosting the event at Hawcoat Park Sports Club.

The petrolheads will enjoy a night of Northern Soul on Friday and take to the streets on Saturday for their rally.

A race night will also take place tomorrow night at the Kill One on Duke Street at 7pm.

Wax Lyrical will host the night at the club in aid of St Mary's Hospice.

The fun does not stop there - Furness Lions are set to hold a charity tombola in Barrow market Portland Walk entrance from 10am till 4pm.

The Forum will also be showing "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" at 1pm to bring families together for an afternoon of fun.

Ulverston will be taking a step back in time to the English civil war on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 from 11am to 4pm.

The display will be performed by reenactment group, The Sealed Knot, at Ford Park who will show the public what life was like during the 17th century.

This Sunday will also bring plenty of fun, as Walney will be plunged into festival season with Tarn Fest.

The event will take place at Tarn House on Mill Lane from 12 noon till 6pm, with plenty of local performers of different genres.
