Vermont Man Arrested in Western NH Shooting

NHSP: Cody Yeaw, 27, of Putney, VT, was charged with manslaughter today in the shooting death of Robert Wesley, 57, of Alstead.

KEENE, NH — A Green Mountain state man was arrested today on a manslaughter charge in connection with the death of an Alstead man last week, according to New Hampshire State Police. Cody Yeaw, 27, of Putney, VT, was arrested on Jan. 11, 2017, on a single count of manslaughter.

Yeaw is alleged to have shot Robert Wesley, 57, of March Hill Road in Alstead on Jan. 7, in the head. State police announced last week that while it was a homicide investigation, the public was not in danger.

Yeaw was arrested in Keene by state police.

Wesley was a life-long resident of New Hampshire – he was born in Keene, attended Keene State College, worked in human services, and lived in Alstead for about 30 years, according to his obituary.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro St. in Keene, for a time of reflection at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017. A memorial service will follow immediately at 2 p.m.

Yeaw was held without bail and will be arraigned on Jan. 12, in Cheshire Superior Court.
