The Dropkick Murphys, which formed in South Boston in the mid-1990s, announced that fellow bands Clutch and Hatebreed will be joining them for much of the tour. Russ Rankin, the former frontman of Good Riddance, and Amigo The Devil will also make appearances.

The Murphys have released nine studio albums, three live albums and three compilation albums. They gained international fame in the mid-2000s when their song, “I'm Shipping Up to Boston,” featured prominently in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-winning mob film, “The Departed.”

Concertgoers can expect an energetic show and to hear some of the bands classics, as well as songs from the Murphys’ most recent album, “11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory,” released in January 2017. The record features was largely inspired by the nationwide opioid crisis, which has gripped Boston.
