PASADENA, CA -- Pasadena police officers spent St. Patrick's Day on the lookout for drunk or drugged drivers and made over 100 vehicle stops that resulted in four arrests, authorities said today.

It was the third in a series of four DUI enforcement operations planned for March and was conducted on a day known for celebrations featuring copious volumes of alcohol, Pasadena police Lt. Mark Goodman said.

Officers made 111 vehicle enforcement stops Sunday and arrested four drivers on suspicion of DUI, he said. Two people were arrested for driving without a proper license and one person was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

``Avoiding a DUI on St. Patrick's Day, or any other day has nothing to do with luck,'' Goodman said. ``DUI arrests can be prevented through proper planning and the use of a designated sober driver or other safe ride home.''
