GA Thanksgiving Store Closures 2018: TJ Maxx, Dillard's + More

ATLANTA, GA — We're a few days away from gathering to give thanks and stuff ourselves with food, and nearly 80 retailers have confirmed they will not be open for business on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22. While millions of shoppers seek door-buster savings, some companies don't want employees to have to work that night and keep their doors closed on the holiday.

Dozens of national stores with Georgia locations plan to be closed on Thanksgiving 2018. Those taking the day off from the shopping frenzy include Dillard's, Marshalls, HomeGoods, H&M, Burlington, DSW, Home Depot, Nordstrom and T.J. Maxx.

A list compiled by BestBlackFriday.com tallying the stores closed on Thanksgiving has been updated since it was first published in October. The website has found that a total of 76 retailers will be closed on Nov. 22.

BestBlackFriday.com says it confirmed each store’s closed status with a representative or PR contact. The list also includes big-name grocery stores, including Costco and Trader Joe’s, that will be closed on Thanksgiving.

The common theme BestBlackFriday.com found was that most retailers staying closed on Thanksgiving were doing so to allow employees to spend time with their families.
