Savour great golf & food in the Golf & Gourmet Trophy in Mauritius

If you love great golf and food then you’re guaranteed to have a ball at Sun Resorts’ 5th Golf & Gourmet Trophy in magical Mauritius in the Indian Ocean from March 25 to April 1st.

It promises to be the golfing holiday of a lifetime – a phenomenal experience combining delicious food and unforgettable golfing encounters within breathtaking scenery and surroundings.

Open to golfers of all playing standards, competitors will stay in style on the island’s stunning five star resorts of Long Beach and Sugar Beach and during a seven night stay in paradise will experience the spectacular courses of Ile aux Cerfs, Tamarina, Avalon and Anahita.

Players have the opportunity to explore Mauritius as well as tackle some of the island’s very best courses. This year’s event will see three a number of international chefs participating – France’s Jean-Pierre Vigato, Reuben Riffel from South Africa and Fabio Haebel from Germany – while Christophe Ravetto (a former European Tour player) will be overseeing the event.

The courses

*Ile aux Cerfs – An extraordinary 18-hole, par 72 championship course designed by Bernhard Langer and located on its very own tropical island.

*Anahita – Equally as stunning with its dramatic mountain and sea views. This 18-hole, par 72 course was designed by Ernie Els and offers a serious challenge in a magical setting.

*Tamarina – Designed by Rodney Wright and another quality 18-hole, par 72 championship layout celebrated for its fabulous facilities and testing course, sweeping views of Tamarin Bay and Rempart Mountain.

*Avalon – Distinctly different from the other courses, this new Peter Matkovich layout is situated in the heart of Mauritius, surrounded by tea plantations, undulating landscapes, ravines and mountains.

Off course, participants can look forward to exclusive gourmet meals including a true ‘feet-in-the-sand’ lunch experience on Filibusters, Ile aux Cerfs’ exclusive beach for golfers and one of the most beautiful locations on Mauritius, a magical catamaran cruise around the island, cookery classes to discover Mauritius’ local delicacies, and an unforgettable gala dinner hosted and prepared by the celebrity chefs.

Players can also enjoy the wonderful facilities and activities at Long Beach Mauritius and Sugar Beach Mauritius – from a golfer’s massage to water-sports, yoga or sunrise kayaking.

Long Beach Mauritius is a chic retreat fringing Mauritius’ iconic Belle Mare beach, one of the island’s most beautiful white sandy beaches, on the east coast, whilst Sugar Beach Mauritius unfurls along the sun-drenched, sheltered bay of Flic-en-Flac, bordered by crystalline waters and manicured gardens.
