Elite high school football players from around the world will be invited to compete in a bowl game hosted by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Academy.
On Dec. 22, the Pro Football Hall of Fame World All-Star Bowl Presented by Xenith will take place at Azul Stadium in Mexico City for the first time.
Over the last 12 months, representatives from the academy have traveled to different countries to train top athletes.
“Football is more global than ever with games in London and Mexico and through the Pro Football Hall of Fame on missions to Israel, Denmark and the Vatican,” Pro Football Hall of Fame president and CEO David Baker said in a statement.
“The Hall of Fame is serving its important mission, promoting the great values of the game and celebrating excellence everywhere.”
In addition to the game, the bowl will host an early National Signing Day ceremony on Dec. 19 to allow the athletes to announce college commitments.
There will also be a free instructional clinic for up to 1,000 Mexico coaches, a combine for Mexican athletes and a character development seminar for the athletes led by members of the Hall of Fame.
Coaches include Hall of Fame members such as Rod Woodson, Ray Farmer, Chuck Bresnahan and Robert Ford.
Several players from the United States have already committed to play in the game, including QB Taulia Tagovailoa, QB Ryan Hilinski, center Clay Webb and Chosen 25 No. 1 DE Kayvon Thibodeaux.
The full roster will be announced in November.
Tickets, which go on sale Oct. 29, cost $15 for general admission and $35 for a limited number of VIP seats. Xenith, the presenting sponsor, is supporting the emerging global football landscape and supporting the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s efforts in Mexico, Europe, Canada, China and India. They are providing uniforms and helmets for the World All-Stars.
