Welcome back to AM Intel, a round-up of mini news bites to kick off the day.

Opening Alert

The Cambridgeside Galleria (100 Cambridgeside Pl., East Cambridge) — which just goes by Cambridgeside these days (stylized as CambridgeSide) — recently welcomed a new food option, Zing Bowl, to the mall. The company has appeared at farmers markets over the past few years, but this is its first standalone restaurant of sorts, operating out of a kiosk near the food court on the first floor and serving smoothies, salads, quinoa bowls, tapioca-based tacos, Brazilian cheese rolls, and more. (The tacos and cheese rolls are both gluten-free.)

Opening Alert #2

Boston Public Market (100 Hanover St., Downtown Boston) has a new pasta vendor: Avery Perry’s Law of Pasta has opened in the former Nella Pasta space, serving a variety of fresh pastas as well as grab-and-go lunch and dinner options. Perry, who was previously part of the Nella team and has taught many classes at Boston Public Market’s Kitchen space, features locally sourced vegetables, herbs, and grains in his pastas.

Opening Alert #3

Reminder: Bar Lyon debuts today at 1750 Washington St. in Boston’s South End, with the bar opening at 4:30 p.m. and dinner beginning at 5 p.m. The restaurant, which is part of the Columbus Hospitality Group (Mistral, Moooo, etc.), serves food inspired by Lyon, France, including a terrine Lyonnaise en croûte and cervelle de canut (a seasoned fromage blanc).

Paradise Cambridge (180 Massachusetts Ave.) — no relation to the Paradise music venue in Allston — is closing its doors this weekend as pharmaceutical giant Novartis has bought the building to fuel its expansion. Paradise, which is part of the Boston area’s shrinking LGBTQ nightlife scene, will throw a final dance party on Saturday night, September 15.

Coming Attractions

Local ice cream chain J.P. Licks is on the way back to Newbury Street in Boston’s Back Bay, with a location in the works at 173 Newbury St. Six years ago, the company closed down its 20-year-old location at 352 Newbury St., citing the high rent. There’s also a new location slated for 397 W. Broadway in South Boston.
