Missing teen found after mother pleads for help

A local 15-year-old East Bridgewater boy was found late Wednesday after his mother pleaded for help finding her son.Amy Pina of East Bridgewater wrote on Facebook that her son, Erik, left home around 3 p.m. Sunday and did not return. He was believed to be riding a blue mountain bike, but Pina said Monday that police located and returned the bicycle.She posted on Facebook late Wednesday that her son was found and they were going "to get checked out." East Bridgewater police Chief Scott Allen said the there was "nothing suspicious" in nature, the Brockton Enterprise reported. East Bridgewater police and Massachusetts State Police on Monday evening searched a wooded area behind the Old Colony YMCA after receiving a tip that he was in the area, Allen said.Pina was posting to Facebook in an effort to generate leads, and a Monday morning post about her missing son has been shared more than 7,000 times.On Facebook, the boy's mother thanked the town of East Bridgewater for its help."Thank you all so much for your calls, texts, offers of help and kind words," Pina wrote.
