Kristen Szurley slugged a three-run homer to cap a four-run outburst in the fourth inning that sent Seneca High School to a 6-4 upset win at top-seeded Cumberland in the quarterfinals of the South Jersey Group 3 softball tournament on Tuesday.

Trailing by 2-0 in the fourth, the Golden Eagles (14-7) got Shannon Briggs and Eliza Sweet on base to set up Szurley’s home run with no outs. Brooke Spruill later singled and scored on Cami Albrecht’s RBI double.

Sweet finished with two runs batted in, and also got the pitching win with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Cumberland’s (16-7) Alyssa Donato went 4-for-4 with three RBIs.

Triton 6, Mainland 4: Karlie Kennedy went 3-for-4 with a double and a walk to help the Mustangs build a 5-0 advantage in the third inning. Alana Falciani drove in a pair of runs, and winning pitcher Giovanna Cerminaro singled twice.

Pinelands 6, Delsea 3 (10 inn.): After building an early 3-0 lead, the third-seeded Crusaders (18-3) were eliminated by Pinelands’ (17-7) three-run 10th inning. Kaylin Power had two of Delsea’s five hits and drove in a run.

Lacey Twp. 6, GCIT 1: Tech broke through with a run in the fifth inning off winning pitcher Chelsea Howard, who struck out seven batters.

S.J. GROUP 4

Clearview 2, Kingsway 0 (8 inn.): Despite a pair of regular-season losses to second-seeded Kingsway (24-5), the 10th-seeded Pioneers (15-8) advanced to the semifinals on Elaina Hansen’s two-run double in the eighth inning.

Nina Freda and Rachel Albertson, who reached base with her 100th career hit, scored on Hansen’s hit, and Nina Rizzo pitched a three-hit shutout with three strikeouts.

Rancocas Valley 7, Cherokee 4: Rancocas (19-3) built a 6-0 lead before holding off the Chiefs (17-8). Julie Contravo collected a single, double and triple for two RBI, and Jocelyn Lawrence and Jalian Young added two hits apiece for the Red Devils.

Cinnaminson 3, Pt. Pleasant Boro 2: The Pirates (17-7) broke a 1-1 deadlock with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Brianna Tischler went 2 for 3 and joined Maddison Godwin and Kelly Sigmund in driving in Cinnaminson runs to make a winner of pitcher Rebecca Martino.

Delran 7, Middle Twp. 4: The Bears’ triumph featured Alexis Rider’s three hits and four runs scored, Nicole Travis’ three hits and a run batted in, and a pair of singles by Bianca Sipos.

Manchester Twp. 6, Sterling 1: Third-seeded Sterling (18-5) had nine hits in the upset loss to No. 11 seed Manchester (8-12), including Mattie Whalen’s 4-for-4 day.

S.J. GROUP 1

Audubon 10, Schalick 0: Home runs off the bats of Deanna Pineiro (3 RBI) and winning pitcher Samantha McErlane (3 RBI) punctuated a six-run second inning for second-seeded Audubon (19-3). Pineiro also doubled and scored twice, and McErlane struck out five in a one-hit shutout, allowing only a single by Carly Endres.

Buena 10, Gloucester 0: Nat Ampole tossed the one-hit shutout, Brittanie Gilliano registered three hits and two runs batted in, and Gabby D’Ottavio added two hits and two RBI for the Chiefs.

Maple Shade 4, Haddon Heights 3 (8 inn.): The Wildcats tied the game with Hannah Kraszewski’s three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, and won in the eighth on Mikayla Ranjo’s walk-off single that scored Megan Hart. Sabrina Thomas pitched a complete game for the win, allowing a home run to Heights’ Angelica Oppermann.

Woodbury 10, Palmyra 4: Nora Campo went 4 for 4 with a home run and three runs batted in to ignite the Herd’s success. Rhianna Wilke-Rone chipped in with two hits and four RBI, while pitcher Rachel White gave up three earned runs.

Gloucester Catholic 6, Paul VI 3: The Rams (12-6) rebounded from a 3-0 deficit with a six-run fifth inning in which Madison Burnite and winning pitcher Gianna Gussen drove in two runs each. Brooke Cloak singled twice and drove in a run for Gloucester Catholic, and Paul VI’s Sam Sack homered.

Bishop Eustace 6, Mt. St. Mary 0: Eustace pitcher Izzy Kelly dominated MSJ by striking out 19 batters to account for all but two of the outs. Kelly walked two and was backed by two hits each from Lauren Punk (4 RBI) and Kristi Dimeo (2 RBI).

OLMA 13, Marist 0: The Villagers got a perfect six-inning game from pitcher Morgan Hagerty, who struck out a dozen batters. Madison Hagerty singled in three runs in the fourth inning, and Dana Durham had four RBI.

Holy Cross 13, Timothy Christian 0: Casey McFadden singled twice and doubled for three runs batted in, and Gianna Maaddi chipped in with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI for the Lancers.

C.J. GROUP 3

Northern Burlington 11, Hopewell Valley 1: The Greyhounds clobbered HV with 17 hits, including a home run by Megan Berg. Nicole Bondoc was 4 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBI, and Berg and Alexa Blue each had three hits and three RBI.

Ewing 5, Burlington Twp. 0: The Falcons had just two hits against winning pitcher Danielle Rinaldi, who fanned 10 hitters. Rinaldi also went 3 for 3 with her 100th career hit.

NONLEAGUE

Winslow Twp. 6, Overbrook 4: Gabrielle Powers knocked in two runs in support of Winslow pitcher Jennie VanSciver.
