CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A surprise check presentation and groundbreaking took place Tuesday, April 20, hosted by Millan Enterprises, lifting the spirits of all of the volunteers and supporters of the nonprofit organization YAIPak Outreach.

Josh Ward with Millan Enterprises presented a $5,000 donation to YAIPak just before the groundbreaking on the site of a new home for the organization at 215 Beech St., to help serve the homeless and those in need. For the past several years, YAIPak has worked out of warehouse space owned by the real estate company at 200 Commerce St.

YAIPak founder Sherry Nicholson, had no idea about plans for the new building.

“I’m overwhelmed and speechless, the emotions are indescribable. Last year alone, we impacted 354,000 people, and we’re going to keep giving and loving and serving with ever fiber of our being to see life-changing impacts,” Nicholson said.

The YAI in YAIPak stands for You Are Important, and the organization spends countless hours and provides help for the homeless and those who are under-resourced. YAIPak  takes those needed resources to the homeless, whether it be on the street, or in the woods – wherever they are.

Leo Millan, chief member of the company, shared his feelings about Nicholson and YAIPak. “Sherry is one of the most giving people you’ll ever meet. I feel like people are thanking us; we need to thank her, because she’s the one that’s doing all of the work. The building is the easy part, believe it or not. We need to appreciate and thank her organization and her team for everything that they do,” Millan said.
