Two 13-year-olds, a boy and a girl, have been arrested for allegedly making bomb threats at middle schools in Alexandria.

A threat against Francis C. Hammond Middle School, posted on social media Wednesday evening, led to a full school evacuation and bomb search Thursday.

"If bombing fail's it will be school shooter," a Twitter account called "ILiekPokeToMuch" posted.

A boy is accused of making the threat.

Police moved all students to T.C. Williams High School for several hours while they searched the building. Some worried parents showed up at the school. No bombs or weapons were found.

After the Hammond evacuation, a girl posted a similar threat against George Washington Middle School, police said, leading to heightened security Friday.

"The Alexandria Police Department takes all threats against our area schools seriously and will prosecute them," the police said in a statement Friday.
