Tennessee officials announced this week that an expansion project at a towing equipment manufacturer helped create 175 new jobs in recent years.
Gov. Bill Haslam and Bob Rolfe, the state’s economic development chief, said Miller Industries added the jobs in Ooltewah over a five-year period. Officials said the multi-million dollar expansion in the Chattanooga suburb lasted from late 2016 to early 2018.
Jeff Badgley, the company’s co-chief executive officer, said the facility “now contains approximately 331,000 square feet of world-class manufacturing and administrative space.”
Miller makes towing and recovery equipment under the brand names Boniface, Century, Challenger, Champion, Chevron, Eagle, Holmes, Jige, Titan, and Vulcan. Approximately 750 people work at the company’s Tennessee facilities in Ooltewah and Greeneville.
Miller also operates plants in Pennsylvania, the U.K., and France.
