DUNDALK, Md. (WBFF) - Baltimore County Police say a woman used a dating app to lure a carjacking victim.

Officers were called to the 8000 block of Neighbors Avenue in Rosedale around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators said a 27-year-old man met a woman on the dating app “Plenty of Fish.”

The victim told officers he and the woman agreed to meet on Neighbors Avenue.

It was there the man said he, the woman and the woman’s female friend were talking outside his car when suddenly two armed men with their faces covered ordered him to the ground.

The suspects took the victim’s car, cell phone and wallet and fled the scene.

“We’ve seen this on these dating apps, as well as apps where people are selling things,” said Corporal Shawn Vinson, with the Baltimore County Police Department. “They meet up with the suspect and they end up getting their property stolen.”

Baltimore City police warned people about robbers using Grindr to lure victims two years ago.

Baltimore County Police are searching for the victim’s vehicle described as a green, four-door Scion with Virginia plates and Cricket Wireless advertisement stickers.
