Gloves Off As Oil Mogul Drives Wedge Between Mnangagwa, Chiwenga

Businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei has triggered off fresh fissures within the ruling Zanu-PF and government, with the military-backed Sakunda Holdings founder apparently driving a wedge between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga over the tycoon's unsettling influence. Tagwirei is accused of monopolising fuel infrastructure, and flaunting his wealth to influence the government to make decisions in his favour. Mnangagwa reportedly fears that Chiwenga wants to oust him.
