Monsoon Session News Updates: Congress to Move Privilege Motion Against PM Modi, Nirmala Sitharaman on Rafael Issue
The day started with the CPI leader D Raja giving Suspension of Business Notice in the Rajya Sabha over the Alwar mob lynching incident.
New Delhi, July 23: After the failure of the no-confidence motion on Friday, the opposition is now looking to corner the government over the mob lynching incidents, particularly the recent killing of Rakbar Khan in Rajasthan’s Alwar, during the Monsoon Session in the Parliament today.
The fourth day of the Monsoon Session started with the CPI leader D Raja giving Suspension of Business Notice in the Rajya Sabha over the Alwar mob lynching incident. Meanwhile, BJP MP Vinay Sahasrabuddhe submitted a similar notice over flood and other natural calamities across the country.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that the government is encouraging mob lynching incidents, adding that they will raise the issue in the Parliament.
The Rajasthan Police is facing heavy criticism for their alleged irresponsibility in the Alwar mob lynching case. According to reports, the police took over three hours to take the victim – Rakbar Khan – to the hospital which was just six kilometres away from the site of incident.
Also, it has been reported that eyewitnesses saw policemen beating the 28-year-old victim instead of taking him to hospital.
