Los Tigres del Norte’s “MTV Unplugged,” a daring set that brings pop and rock voices into Los Tigres’ traditional norteño music, debuts at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart this week.
The set, which features pairings with the likes of Paulina Rubio and Juanes, follows Maná’s “Drama y Luz” and Prince Royce’s “Prince Royce,” which remain entrenched in their No.1 and No. 2 position on the chart, respectively.
And landing at No. 4 is “14 + 14,” an all-hits collection by Aventura, whose members are now preparing solo releases.
On the Latin Digital Songs chart, the big appearance at No. 10 was “Aguanile,” the track Marc Anthony recorded as part of the “El Cantante” soundtrack, and which now shows up on the chart thanks to his performance alongside wife Jennifer López in the finale of “American Idol.” Another Anthony previous hit, “Dímelo,” jumped 44-24 on the chart.
On Hot Latin Songs, Aventura lead singer and writer Anthony “Romeo” Santos remains at No. 1 for the third consecutive week with “You,” the first single from his upcoming solo debut, due out in the Fall on Sony.
Also relatively stable was La Adictiva Banda San José de Mesillas, going 3-2 with “Te Amo Te Amo,” their first track to make it to the Hot Latin Songs chart. Previously, the regional Mexican group had had tracks on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart, where “Te Amo Te Amo” is currently No 1.
