PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Members of the Rhode Island National Guard arrived home after assisting with the 59th Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C.
A spokesperson for the Rhode Island National Guard told ABC6 News the members arrived back to the state Saturday afternoon.

The state’s National Guard was one of thousands from across the country sent to D.C. for increased security due to violent threats made prior to the inauguration.
An estimated 25,000 National Guard members from across the country assisted in the nation’s Capital.
