Fire Closes Concord Taproom

The fire was apparently caused by a portable air conditioner in the kitchen.

CONCORD, CA -- A kitchen fire early Friday morning has left the Concord Tap House beer bar closed, its owners said on social media.

The fire was apparently caused by a portable air conditioner in the kitchen. Fire damage was limited to the kitchen and back room of the bar, which opened in August in a strip mall at 3513 Clayton Road.

No one was injured in the fire, and the owners said they intend to reopen as soon as possible.

A grand opening is scheduled for Nov. 10; taproom workers couldn't be reached tonight for comment on whether that date is still a go for its grand opening.
