BROOKLYN, MI - As concertgoers enjoy the Faster Horses Festival, they may get hungry.
Luckily, there's plenty of food options nearby to satisfy their appetites.
Guests at the three-day festival are just steps away from a slice of pizza, plate of tacos or bottle of beer.
While the festival has a lot of ties to Michigan businesses, some of the food options come from out of state.
Gina Evans is the owner of Taste & Tell, based in West Palm Beach, Fla. The restaurant has conducted circuits in the Midwest the past seven years including stops in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan, Evans said.
"I want people to taste my food and tell their friends about it," Evans said.
This is Taste & Tell's first time at Faster Horses, Evans said. Located on the right side facing the Faster Horses stage, Taste & Tell offers items such as coconut shrimp on a stick, fried vegetables and tropical punch.
She said the shrimp and chicken stir fry is one of the best foods.
"We put a lot of love into it," Evans said.
On the opposite side of Taste & Tell sits Chuckie's, a mobile barbecue station based in Iowa. Owner Michele Bowers said this is the food truck's fifth time at Faster Horses.
With a menu encompassing chicken strips, breaded pork tenderloin and waffle fries, Bowers said the food is hand-bread. The pork tenderloin is boneless, very wet with a dry batter and very tender, Bowers said.
"We're known for being fresh and simple," Bowers said.
Faster Horses runs through Sunday, July 22.
