Summer Breeze Concert Series sweeping back into Norman for 18th season

NORMAN - The Depot has announced the lineup for its 18th Summer Breeze Concert Series, which will feature music groups from Oklahoma, the United States and Canada.

The free, family-friendly concerts are set for 7:30 p.m. Sundays in Lions Park, 450 S Flood Ave. Music fans are invited to bring seating and their favorite refreshments to enjoy the shows.

This year’s series will launch May 20 with a performance by the Wichita, Kansas-based “Brass ‘n’ Grass” sextet Carrie Nation and the Speakeasy.

Other acts performing during the 2018 Summer Breeze Concert Series include Tulsa country band Jacob Tovar and the Saddle Tramps on June 3; Arkansas folk-jazz duo Handmade Moments on June 17; Nashville, Tennessee-based roots rocker Brandy Zdan on July 1; Alabama folk-rock band The Mulligan Brothers on July 15; Norman bluesmen Caleb McGee and the Underdogs on July 29; and Canadian world music group Delhi 2 Dublin on Aug 12.

The series will close with a members choice show Aug. 26 featuring chamberfolk group Harpeth Rising, a trio of classically trained musicians playing intricately arranged original music lyrically rooted in the singer/songwriter tradition.
