My wife and I are going to be staying in Lincoln, NH for a week starting next Friday (our first time in the area, coming from AZ). Much of the week involves leaf-peeping and hiking, but I certainly want to maximize the beer aspect as well. We'll certainly hit One Love and Woodstock Inn just because of proximity, but I'd love to hear about other beer (both brewery and beer bars) options in the White Mountain area. I saw mention of Schilling Beer Co. on another thread, and that looks worthwhile, and a friend recommended Moat Mountain.

Also, we plan to take a day to drive into VT. At this point my plan is to go to Stowe first and do some touristy stuff (including the Von Trapp place) and hit Alchemist. Any other brewery and lunch suggestions are welcome. I've seen mention of Idletyme and Blackback Pub in Waterbury as possible options. From there, my plan is to go to Hill Farmstead (so that gets us there late afternoon on a Wed. or Thurs.).

Any additional tips or things to fill in on the drive to/from are appreciated (including possible dinner stops on the way back to Lincoln from HF)!

Oh, and afterwards we're spending a couple nights in Boston, sans car, before flying out. We'll be staying in the Long Wharf area, near the North End and the Aquarium I believe...it looks like the Trillium Beer Garden is walkable from there (assuming they're still open), and Row 24 looks like a good potential dinner spot (one night we'll be doing something with red sauce in the North End)? Any other can't-miss, walkable things I should put on the agenda?

Schilling is definitely worth a stop. Could be for dinner on your way back from HF.
In St. Johnsbury, the Kingdom Taproom has a great tap list. Could be post or pre HF. Parker Pie is a bit north of HF and a great spot for a meal with great tap list.

Rek-Lis brewing in Bethlehem is a fun place. They make a wide range of brews and do a good job overall. If the weather is nice they have an excellent outdoor area.

How are you getting to Lincoln? If you are coming up I93 I highly recommend a pit stop in Tilton at Kettlehead. Great food and beers. Usually have cans to go.

    Stowe area
von Trapp is a great spot for scenery, food, traditional European beer.
    Blackback is my favorite overall
Prohibition Pig. Restaurant and brewery out back. Good stuff and worth checking out their tap list and trying their brews.
The Reservoir. Always good stuff on tap. Pub food.
The Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury is right across the street from Pro Pig.
Doc Ponds in Stowe is a popular beer spot
The Bench is a good restaurant and good beer list.
For fancy meal Hen of the Woods can't be beat.
Not sure when will open, but Lawson's Finest has been teasing their new place being ready soon.
Between Stowe and Hill Farmstead you can go to Lost Nation for beers and food. I always enjoy this place.
You could also stop at Rock Art. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Lots of improvement and some tasty brews.

    Have fun!
Happy hour at the downstairs bar at Woodstock Inn Brewery is great.
One Love is hit or miss but if you are there for a week may as well give it a try. Not a bad place, but still getting their act together.

St. Johnsbury has a couple of good places (looks like the post above just gave you the names!), though I don't recall the names. I once went up on two tires getting off an exit when my Untappd noted that one of the local places in STJ had HF on tap. I haven't been to Lincoln over the last several years, so my info is dated, but it used to be pretty tough going in terms of quality beers. I always brought it with me for maximum satisfaction.

From HF on the way back to Lincoln, you will be going right by Kingdom Taproom in St. Johnsbury. Good food and VT Tap List.

You can also add a couple miles to your trip and head North to Parker Pie in Glover and then pick up Route 91 to head South to 93. I would recommend Parker Pie for a heavy HF draft list, killer pizza, and great wings.

I forgot to mention Saint J Brewery. I have not been to their "Draft Room and Hoagie Bar" but have had a few of their brews on tap in the area. If your in St. J, probably worth a stop.

Also, as a non-beer thing to do before (or after may be fun) Hill Farmstead. The Danville Corn Maze is pretty fun. It takes some time (if you don't get hints from the workers), but interesting county living fun!

I'll pile on with the recommendations for Schilling. The brewery space, and I guess Littleton on the whole, is uniquely NE - food is great and some of the best beer in all of NE.

If you have a free morning, I'd recommend having breakfast at Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill (just north of Lincoln on the other side Franconia Notch). It's lost some charm since the remodel, but they still make an excellent breakfast and usually have a handful of local beer options.

Breakfast at Polly's and a moderate afternoon hike somewhere like Welch-Dickey or Percival-Morgan makes for a great day.

A few blocks from your Boston hotel is Gingerman. Big tap list and they do flights. Even closer is State Street Provisions. Decent beer and good food. Boston Public Market is close too. Lots of local food vendors and a decent bottle shop.

Row 34 is a great choice. The North End is a craft beer wasteland and has many bad restaurants so I'd suggest doing a little research if you eat dinner there. I like Monica's Trattoria. Good housemade pasta. North Square Oyster is a good seafood spot with decent beer and cocktails next to the Paul Revere House.

+1 for Monicas. Went there for dinner a couple of weeks ago - first time since the expansion and remodel. The food is just as good, but the staff seemed to be struggling with managing the additional capacity. We waited nearly an hour past our reservation before we were seated. Massiminos is a solid alternative.
