Apple's October 30 Event: What to Expect

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is gearing up for another launch event this month at the Howard Gilman Opera House in New York City. 

The Cupertino, California-based company, which recently unveiled the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and Apple Watch Series 4 in September, sent out invites to its latest event with the following teasing tagline: “There’s more in the making,” according to 9to5Mac. 

Here’s a list of products that Apple could choose to unveil Oct. 30:

New iPad Pros

Rumors are circulating that the tech giant could be set to roll out two new versions of the iPad Pro, both of which are expected to feature larger screens. Apple analysts, including Ming-Chi Kuo, believe the company will shrink down the bezels around the iPad Pro's display, ditch the Home button and add a TrueDepth front camera similar to the one that appears on current iPhone X models. If true, that means that features such as Face ID and Animoji/Memoji might be introduced to Apple tablets.

AirPower and AirPods

New iPads could finally pave the way for Apple to provide some release details about AirPower, amid speculation that the wireless charger for iPhones and Apple Watches may have been scrapped. Investors and tech enthusiasts will also be hoping to receive more information on the second generation AirPod headphones that work with the device.

Affordable Laptop

October’s event could also mark the launch of the affordable MacBook that Bloomberg reported about. Some believe the cheaper model will feature 8th generation Intel Core CPUs and Touch ID fingerprint sensors, but won’t include the touchscreen Touch Bar found on MacBook Pros. 

Professional Mac Mini

The Mac Mini desktop computer has not been updated since 2014, despite its cult following. Rumors are circulating that a new, more expensive version might be on the way, specifically for professional users. Bloomberg previously reported that the new model will feature upgraded storage and processor options.

Fresh iMac Updates?

It’s looking less likely that Apple’s other desktop computer, the iMac, will be updated, although that has not stopped some from speculating that a new redesign or updating of specs could be in the pipeline. The computers were last refreshed with a 5K display, processor and graphic improvements in June 2017.
