The former Brookside star recalled the frightening encounter on Facebook, explaining how she was rushed to Accident & Emergency after she went into anaphylactic shock from eating peanuts.

The mum of three referred to the incident as “one of the scariest nights” of her life, as her throat closed up and she was left unable to breathe.

After being given two adrenaline shots during her stay at Whiston hospital in Merseyside, Jennifer, 33, shared photos showing the rashes all over her body.

“Anyway ended up calling an ambulance as my throat closed over and I literally could not breathe!” she added.

The actress and TV host then said she must now carry an epi-pen in case of future reactions, before thanking her nearest and dearest for their emotional support throughout the ordeal, as well as the NHS staff for taking care of her.

“2 adrenaline shots later and a resus stay and it turns out I’m allergic to nuts,” she wrote, adding: “Got to carry an epi pen everywhere with me! This is going to be fun!

“Thanks to all the amazing staff at Whiston hospital for being so fantastic and my mum for turning up so quickly and Rob Tickle for calming me down and staying with me x.”

This health scare comes after Jen, who recently took part in ITV’s Sugar Free Farm, revealed she had lost two stone – dropping four dress sizes – in just three months.
