Dorothy Jean Williams, 75, died on Friday, June 6, 2008.
She had lived the last 30 years in the North Georgia area and was a devoted member of Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle. She also enjoyed sewing and was a NASCAR fan, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Nancy Whitehead.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Herbert Williams, of Ringgold; sons and daughter-in-law, David Curtis Williams, of Ringgold, Bob and Kathy Williams, of Dalton, Ga., and Michael Alan Williams, of Ringgold; daughter, Sharon Kay Hicks, of Ringgold; two brothers, Ray Whitehead, of Maryville, Tn., and Earl Whitehead, of Greenback, Tn.; two sisters, Virginia Harrison, of Etowah, Tn., and Charlotte Gates, of Colorado; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Clark, Scott Dykes, Sarah Beyermier, Amy and Jennifer Williams, Jade Rice, Shane Williams, Mindy Smith, Jeremy Karr and Brandy and Candy Williams; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel with the Rev. Harold Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
The family will begin receiving friends after 5 p.m. on Sunday and prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
