Sharon B Hage passed away at her home Sept. 5, 2018, Hermantown, MN. Sharon was born in Langdon, ND, Nov. 12, 1939 to Elmer and Earlene (Fjeld) Wedwick.

Sharon, at age 17, graduated high school from Osnabrock, ND in 1957. The next day Sharon, with a zest for adventure, boarded a bus with a girlfriend headed for Virginia, MN to find jobs. However, while traveling she heard of waitresses needed in Cotton, MN. She loved kitchen time with her mother (her best friend) and considered this to be a perfect recipe for success. She was hired immediately at the Wilbert, caf, and the two girls rented a one bedroom apartment above the Cotton store. While working, she met her future husband,Marty Hage from Cotton. After 3-weeks of "waiting" on Marty during her morning shift they began to date. A little over a year later they were married on October 18, 1958 in Cotton, MN. Fall was mom's favorite time of the year.

In 1960 Sharon and Marty moved to Texas where Marty attended jet engine school while Sharon kept house and did her best to control the GIANT creepy insects of Texas. After their brief stay in Texas the couple moved back to MN where they purchased their lifelong home in Twig, MN. They adopted their three children; Kathryn, Mark and Tammi. Once they were in school Sharon returned to the workforce in West Duluth at the Bombardier plant. She proudly outfitted her family in "Ski-doo" winter attire and a brand new 1972 Nordic Ski-doo was purchased with her overtime bucks! Sharon purchased her first new car in 1978 - a green and white Cutlass Supreme. Bombardier closed their facility in 1982 and Sharon retired to their Twig home. Sharon prided herself on being a strong independent working woman, wife and mother. When Marty retired shortly thereafter they took on a new career. To carry on their lifelong love of camping they accepted the position of campground managers in Hayward, WI for a period of 5-years. They enjoyed this chapter of their lives greatly. Their first granddaughter was their youngest guest at one month old.

Sharon's hobbies included, housekeeping (she ran a tight ship with us kids learning hospital corners in making our beds everyday), camping and fishing all over northern MN and Canada, flower gardening with bleeding hearts being one of her favorites, jeeping (in her younger days) with friends, snowmobiling, ceramics, canning, baking, quilting, crocheting, bowling, playing cards, and dancing. Her and Dad loved to dance, and many loved watching them dance. Sharon was a member of the Masonic Lodge's Eastern Star Auxiliary and took an active role for many years at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served on the church council. Sharon's legacy was starting the annual "Pasty Fundraiser" several years ago. Sharing her pasty recipe with the ladies was one of her favorite activities at the church. They gathered in the kitchen to enjoy companionship, fellowship and lunch while earning money to support the church's boatload of work. The community very much enjoys Sharon's recipe for pasties and continues her legacy. Christmas and Easter were her favorite meals to prepare, complete with lutefisk and lefsa. Marty often joked, "You know, you could have left that lutefisk in ND."

Sharon was proceeded in death by her parents, Elmer and Earlene (Fjeld) Wedwick, husband Martin of 54-years, brothers, Roger and LuVerne "Bud" Wedwick, sister in law Jeanette Wedwick and sister Diane Rundell. Also Lorene Michaleson who was like a daughter.

She is survived by her three children; Kathryn (Jeff) Wolter-ID, Mark Hage-CA, Tammi Hage (Dave Foster)-MN, seven grandchildren; Donata (Matt) Rogers and Adam (Megan) Wolter, Justin Hage and Nicole (Brian) Metcalf, Blair Hage, Tristan (Samantha Tabert) Hage and Tasha Hage, three great grandchildren; Aedyn Metcalf, Mason and Payton Wolter along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends who are like family; Doris Lane and family and Ed and Cindy Kopic.

The family expresses deep appreciation and gratitude to Ecumen Lakeshore Rehabilitation and Home Health Care. Sharon's last month was very rich with friendships and family visits. Good bye Mom, Grandma, Auntie and friend. Cherished memories we hold until we meet again.

Join us in remembering Mom Sat. September 15, 2018 at 11am in Twig at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, visitation at 10am. At Mom's request, no flowers please.
