Mount Vernon CSD To Honor Its Outstanding Teachers

The distinguished teacher of the year will be announced at an awards ceremony.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — The Mount Vernon City School District will be recognizing its best and brightest educators. The Distinguished Teacher Award Ceremony is planned for Saturday, April 14 at Mount Vernon High School and will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m.

Fifty teachers from various grade levels and buildings district-wide have been nominated for distinguished teachers awards. The distinguished teacher of the year will be announced at the awards ceremony that will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

“Among the goals of the District’s 20/20 Vision is instructional excellence, and these educators have risen to the challenge,” said Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton, superintendent of schools. “It’s only fitting that we recognize the hard work these extraordinary teachers put in each and every day with our students as we designate this school year as the year of the teacher.”
