LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Long Island City beefed up its barbecue options with the opening of a Texas-style BBQ joint by the owner of John Brown Smokehouse.

Mothership Meat Company finally opened last week in Dutch Kills following a three-year wait for approval by the NYC Department of Buildings, according to the LIC Post.

The long-awaited sibling to Long Island City's beloved John Brown Smokehouse will offer Texas-style barbecue classics like brisket and ribs, plus more unusual options like goat ribs and frog legs, the LIC Post reported. An outdoor beer garden will seat about 200 people.
