Flames consume Cocoa home
Wild flames were caught on camera Wednesday evening when a mobile home started burning in West Cocoa.
A family was inside the home when the fire started, officials said.
WESH 2 News spoke to neighbors who jumped into action, and got a closer look at the damage left behind by a mobile home fire in Cocoa.
The damage was so extensive, it was difficult to see what was inside the home.
"I see a bunch of smoke rising up in the air," said John Argila, who helped save the family. "I looked around the corner and the whole house was on fire."
Argila is the type of neighbor you'd want on your street.
He said he immediately dialed 911 when he saw flames consume the home on Gatewood Street where a father and two kids were inside -- but he didn't stop there.
"I kicked the door in while I was on the phone with the cops and stuff and I got the two kids out and the dad jumped out the window," Argila said.
Brevard County Fire Rescue officials said several neighbors jumped in to try to help when the fire broke out around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday.
No serious injuries were reported, but the father was transported to a local hospital for a small burn.
Fire Rescue crews said one of the kids also had a minor burn on their finger.
Crews are working to determine the cause of the fire.
Neighbors said what's important is that everyone got out safe.
The Red Cross has been called to help the family at the home. They said they've been staying busy in Central Florida the last couple of days, with several house fires in the area.
