NCRPO ready for Chinese New Year celebration
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office is on top of security preparations for the Chinese New Year, NCRPO chief Director Guillermo Eleazar said yesterday.
He said 5,000 police officers will be deployed to secure the festivities.
Eleazar called on the public to remain calm but be vigilant, adding that there is no confirmed terror threat in Metro Manila.
He said the NCRPO is in constant coordination with concerned government agencies following Interior Secretary Eduardo Año’s pronouncement that the Jolo, Sulu cathedral bombing was perpetrated by Indonesian nationals.
Target hardening measures against terror group supporters and symphatizers are ongoing although Eleazar said they have not monitored any incident.
