This is a look at who stood out in the Arizona high school football playoffs on Nov. 2-3.

Braydon Janzen, Red Mountain, OLB, Sr.

Against Queen Creek in the opening round of the 6A playoffs, Janzen was a beast on defense.

Janzen had 10 tackles and two interceptions for the Mountain Lions in their 37-34 victory over Queen Creek. 

Red Mountain, the No. 10 seed and the only lower seeded team to advance to the second round of the 6A bracket, takes on No. 2 Phoenix Pinnacle on Friday.

Jacob Conover, Chandler, QB, Sr.

Won his ninth consecutive state playoff game in his career, dating to his sophomore year, completing 12 of 17 for 236 yards and four TDs and no interceptions in a 64-14 rout of Anthem Boulder Creek.

Jaheim Brown-Taylor, Chandler, RB, Jr.

Had his first career varsity 100-yard rushing game, gaining 113 yards and scoring two TDs on just four carries.

Vince Wallace, Chandler Seton Catholic, QB, Sr.

In a 54-49 4A win over Peoria, he was 21 of 34 passing for 386 yards and four TDs with no interceptions and ran 20 times for 102 yards and a score.

PLAYOFFS:What we learned from the first round

Travis Calloway, Gilbert Perry, SS, Sr.

In a 38-21 6A win over Chandler Basha, he intercepted a pass at midfield in the final quarter to help secure the playoff win. He had  two interceptions, 11 tackles, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.

Hendrix Johnson, Boulder Creek, WR, Sr.

Had eight catches for 144 yards and two TDs in the loss to Chandler, giving him 84 catches for 1,446 yards and 20 TDs on the season.

Cameron Williams, Tucson Sahuaro, RB/LB, Sr.

In a 49-48 4A win over Glendale -- Sahuaro's first playoff win since 1999 -- he ran 22 times for 140 yards and five TDs. He could have had a sixth TD but took a knee to help run the clock out in the waning moments, in Todd Gurley style. He also had 11 tackles.

Kevin Daniels, Glendale, RB, Jr.

In the loss to Sahuaro, he ran 19 times for 202 yards and six TDs and caught three passes for 48 yards.

Andre Neal, Glendale, RB, Sr.

Ran for 202 yards and a score on just eight carries against Sahuaro.

Nick Wallerstedt, Phoenix Mountain Pointe, QB, Sr.

In a 40-7 rout of Brophy Prep, completed 8 of 13 for 148 yards and two TDs and ran for 100 yards and four TDs on 10 carries.

Tyreck Cosay, Whiteriver Alchesay, RB, Sr.

In a 46-42 2A loss to Benson, after missing four weeks with a partially torn MCL, he ran for 164 yards on 29 carries, giving him 5,159 yards and 84 touchdowns in his career.

Malik Taylor, Phoenix Christian, RB, Sr.

In a 35-21 win over Scottsdale Christian, rushing for 384 yards and five TDs on 36 carries. He also ran in a 2-point conversion.

Kohner Cullimore, Gilbert Highland, RB/SS, Sr.

In a 45-7 6A rout of Laveen Cesar Chavez, he had 250 all-purpose yards that included three touchdowns, two rushing and a punt return. He had four pass deflections, 15 tackles, two for losses.

David Marquez, Goodyear Trivium Prep, RB, Sr.

In a 36-26 2A win over Red Mesa, he scored five TDs, four rushing, and a 40-yard fumble recovery. He ran for 204 yards on 22 carries. It was the school's first 11-man state playoff win.

Terrell Hayward, Vail Cienega, WR/RB, Sr.

In a 49-28 win over Marana, he ran for 306 yards on 23 carries and scored on runs of 96, 70 and 2 yards.

Trenton Bourguet, Marana, QB, Sr.

Against Cienega, he completed 30 of 34 for 338 yards and four TDs. During one stretch, he was 22 of 23, completing 21 consecutive passes, in his final high school game.

Shane Dezonia, Benson, RB, Sr.

Ran for 276 yards and three TDs on 17 carries in a 46-42 2A win over Alchesay.

Marqui Johnson, Scottsdale Saguaro, WR/RB, Sr.

In a 49-0 4A rout of Goodyear Estrella Foothills, Johnson caught three passes for 143 yards and a TD and ran four times for 119 yards and a score.

Chubba Purdy, Perry, QB, Jr.

He completed 10 of 17 for 136 yards and ran for 176 yards and four TDs on 18 carries.

Israel Benjamin, Saguaro, RB, Jr.

Ran 12 times for 116 yards and three TDs, giving him his fifth straight 100-plus-yards game. He has run for more than 100 yards in seven of his last eight games.

Steven Ybarra, Superior, QB, Sr.

In a 50-20 1A (8-man) semifinal win Saturday over Heber Mogollon, he ran 36 time for 165 yards and three TDs and completed 14 of 34 for 239 yards and three TDs.

Arthur Castillo, Winkelman Hayden, QB, So.

In a 30-6 upset of No. 1 Williams in the 1A semifinal Saturday, he ran for a 17-yard score, and threw TD passes of 93 and 34 yards.

Jihad Marks, Goodyear Desert Edge, WR, Jr.

In a 49-10 4A rout of Sahuarita Walden Grove, he caught five passes for 154 yards and two TDs and returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown.

Adryan Lara, Desert Edge, QB, Fr.

In the first-round win, he completed 10 of 15 for 243 yards and four TDs.

Malachi Potee, Peoria, RB, Sr.

Ran 15 times for 194 yards and two TDs in the loss to Seton.

Colby Humphrey, Phoenix Desert Vista, RB, Jr.

Ran for 153 yards and four TDs on 10 carries in a 40-14 6A rout of Scottsdale Chaparral.

Tyler Duncan, Phoenix Greenway, QB, Sr.

Passed for 193 yards and a TD and ran for 125 yards and a score in a 40-29 4A win over Prescott.

Bijan Robinson, Tucson Salpointe Catholic, RB, Jr.

Ran for 143 yards and three TDs in a 56-7 4A win over Apache Junction.

Mario Padilla, Salpointe, RB/S, Sr.

Had three TDs -- one rushing, one receiving, and one returning  a punt -- in the win over AJ. He had 158 total yards and an interception on defense.

Francis Kumi, Mesa Red Mountain, DE, Sr.

In a 37-34 6A win over Queen Creek, he had six tackles, two for losses and two sack. He also caught a fake punt for 16 yards.

Alonzo Maya, Phoenix Pinnacle, LB, Jr.

In a 38-17 6A win over Mesa Desert Ridge, had 12 tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery and two caused fumbles.

Jamie Heyn, Phoenix Arizona Lutheran Academy, RB, Sr.

Ran 12 times for 227 yards and two TDs and caught a 43-yard pass in a 55-7 2A win over Chandler Prep.

A.J. Skaggs, Tucson Sabino, QB, So.

In a 38-6 3A win over Lakeside Blue Ridge, he was 11 of 13 for 208 yards and three TD, including 65- and 75-yarders. He did this while playing with a broken thumb suffered in a 20-17 region championship win over Safford the previous week.

Connor McKernan, Gilbert, RB, Sr.

In a 46-30 5A loss to Scottsdale Notre Dame, he ran 12 times for 87 yards and a TD, caught six passes for 135 yards and a TD and added a 2-point conversion catch. He also threw for a 2-point conversion.
