Danielle Fishel, Your Favorite Boy Meets World Star, Is Engaged

Congratulations are in order for Danielle Fishel, who most millennials will remember as the very cool, very free-spirited Topanga from Boy Meets World. She just got engaged to her boyfriend of just under a year, TBS’ Drop the Mic executive producer Jensen Karp. Luckily for her lifelong fans, such as yours truly (seriously, I’m writing this article while dabbing at the corners of my eyes with a tissue; the beauty!), Fishel shared with the world via her Instagram account just how the proposal went down. Oh, and she attached the story to the cutest photo of herself and Karp, just looking super lovingly into one another’s eyes and making you think that true love really does exist. These two!

It sounds like Fishel’s engagement to Karp happened in a very Topanga-esque way. Essentially, she got a little Type A about how things were going in the run-up to Karp popping the question, and she possibly derailed his perfect plan in the process. But, all’s well that ends well, right?

“I woke up today thinking it would be a normal day and it was anything but normal. I put on my Genghis Cohen t-shirt and went to see @jensenclan88 at work where I proceeded to screw up a very romantic marriage proposal by being too efficient (this is very on-brand for me). The future Mr. and Mrs. Karp are now engaged and no one is more excited than I am,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Karp shared the same photo of himself and his fiancée on his own Instagram and added his own side of the story. “We got engaged today. I don’t have anything witty or funny to say to accompany this picture. She is just the greatest person in the world and to imagine someone I went to high school with was always my person, is remarkable. You never know,” he wrote. Karp’s caption not only tells us a little bit more about the couple — that they’ve known each other since high school — but also is just so darn sweet.

And the fun didn’t end at the engagement. As People magazine was quick to spot, Karp’s Drop the Mic colleague Hailey Baldwin posted a photo to her Instagram story from the mini-engagement celebration the cast and crew had for Karp and Fishel. “We have a drop the mic engagement!” Baldwin wrote, adding lots of heart emojis to a photo of Karp and Fishel ostensibly making the announcement to everyone.

Fishel and Karp haven’t announced their official anniversary date, but they did make things official in June 2017, People reports. Their coupling up came about a year after Fishel finalized her divorce in March 2016 from her first husband, Tim Belusko.
