FALLSTON, Md. (WBFF) - A teen walking to school in Harford County was struck by a car Friday morning, reported Maryland State Police.

It's the second reported incident this month of a teenager struck by a vehicle on his way to school in Harford County.

In early October, a student was killed trying to catch his school bus in White Hall.

At about 7:15 a.m. this morning, a 17-year-old Fallston High School student had parked his car at a Carrs Mill Road church and had begun walking to school, reported State Police.

The student told troopers he didn't see any cars coming and ran across Route 152/Mountain Road.

The driver of a 2006 Hyundai Tucson, headed south on Route 152, was "attentive, saw the student run out and was able to slow the vehicle[,] decreasing the severity of the collision," reported State Police.

The student refused medical treatment and went to school; no charges were issued.
