Mesram Raj Gonds start 15- day walkathon

The Mesram Raj Gonds on Wednesday started their 15 day walkathon towards Hastinamadugu in Godavari river near Kalamadugu village on Jannaram mandal in Mancherial district.

Over 100 members of the clan are participating in the yatra to fetch holy water which will be used to purify the Nagoba temple on February 4 before the commencement of maha puja as part of the famous Nagoba jatara at Keslapur in Indervelli mandal of Adilabad district.

The devout will travel on foot for seven days before they reach Hastinamadugu passing through various villages. They camp in the nights enroute at designated villages.
