Man Charged in Connection to 3 Armed Robberies on Same Street in Span of a Week

Police say Jamal Boucicault admitted to the crimes and told them he spent most of the money he stole on marijuana, alcohol, and a haircut

A Brockton, Massachusetts man allegedly involved in an armed robbery spree is being held on $50,000 bail after his arraignment Tuesday.

Police say Jamal Boucicault is the man who robbed two stores and attempted to rob a third store in the same week, all on Crescent Street in Brockton.

On April 27, investigators say Boucicault walked into Al Prime Energy and stole several hundred dollars after threatening the cashier with a knife.

Surveillance video from the robbery shows a man in a dark pulled-up hoodie holding a knife saying, “give me the money, bro.”

Four days later, in view of the first target, police say Boucicault robbed another gas station called Crescent Express Gas.

The cashier who was working at the time does not want to be publicly identified. He said the attempted robber tried to buy gum in hopes of getting the register to open. A knife was pulled, but the cashier reached for a metal bat and jumped over the counter scaring the man away.

Three days later, police say Boucicault tried to pull the same maneuver at Stop N Save a half mile away. That time, he got away with cash.

"May 5, 2018, the following day, (police) were able to review the surveillance videos,” the prosecutor said in court. “They were able to watch the suspect leave that store and he had a distinct bow-legged gait that he had when he was walking out of that store."

According to the police report obtained from court, officers noticed Boucicault walking down the street with the same gait and similar characteristics from the surveillance video.

Police say Boucicault  later admitted to the crimes and told them he spent most of the money he stole on marijuana, alcohol, and a haircut.
